Staff Awards

The Staff Advisory Committee to the President is pleased to announce the College of Charleston Staff Awards. The Board of Trustees’ approved the College’s Staff Award program at their January 29, 2014 meeting. Each year the Staff awards are announced at the Celebration of Staff Drop-in Lunch and Awards Ceremony.  The 2017 luncheon was held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in the TD Arena, McAlister Hospitality Suite from 11am -2 pm.


Criteria and details:
 
1.  PERMANENT STAFF EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
Award based on the following criteria:
 a.  This person makes contributions to increase the organization within their office to increase productivity
 b.  This person develops and/or implements improved work processes
 c.  This person exhibits exceptional customer service
 d.  This person has found ways to realize cost savings within their office
 e.  This person has made other specific contributions to the success of their office

The Permanent Staff Employee of the Year will be awarded to five individuals with the following award structure:
 ·   $1,500 to the Presidential Award recipient
 ·   $500 to each of the additional four recipients
 ·   A framed certificate for each recipient


2.  TEMPORARY STAFF EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
Award based on the following criteria:
 a.  This person makes contributions to increase the organization within their office to increase productivity
 b.  This person develops and/or implements improved work processes
 c.  This person exhibits exceptional customer service
 d.  This person has found ways to realize cost savings within their office
 e.  This person has made other specific contributions to the success of their office

The Temporary Staff Employee of the Year will be awarded to three individuals with the following award structure:
 ·   $1,500 to the Presidential Award recipient
 ·   $500 to each of the additional two recipients
 ·   A framed certificate for each recipient

 
3.  OUTSTANDING STAFF MEMBER PRESIDENTIAL SERVICE AWARD
Award based on the following criteria:
 a.  This person assists many others in a variety of offices and organizations campus-wide.
 b.  This person is often assists in campus-wide projects
 c.  This person consistently responds to requests for assistance from any office or organization on campus or off.
 d.  This person consistently solicits partnerships with other offices/organizations in order to benefit the students.

The Outstanding Staff Member Presidential Service awardee will receive:
 ·   $1,500
 ·   A framed certificate

All awardees are selected by the President with input from the Staff Advisory Committee and the relevant executive/senior vice president. The Staff Advisory Committee reviews each nomination using the Staff Awards rubric (hyperlink).
